"Honorary Life Membership may be conferred upon any member or other person who;
(i) has exceptionally or meritoriously served the Association by some act or service or,
(ii) has rendered an outstanding contribution in the fields of Fire Safety, Fire Prevention or Fire Investigation."

A notice of motion for Honorary Life Membership shall be submitted in writing, outlining the merits of the motion, to the Secretary of the Association. The Secretary shall have this information before the Executive Committee at least one month prior to the Annual General Meeting. The motion shall be presented to the membership at the first Annual General Meeting following its receipt and it shall be debated and voted upon. Acceptance shall be by majority vote of the attending members.
